R. Jon McGee is professor of anthropology at Texas State University. A prolific and influential scholar known to believers and skeptics alike as “the father of modern creation science,” Dr. Henry M. Morris truly was a man of science and a staunch man of God. He was even said to have set the terms of debate about evolution for the second half of the 20th century by one Pulitzer Prize-winning academician. Study Bible for those passionate about biblical creation and the authority of Scripture

One of the newest study Bibles to make an appearance in Christian bookstores around the world is The Henry Morris Study Bible published by Master Books. This Bible comes in two "flavors," hardcover and black genuine leather. The review copy I worked with was the hardcover edition. Let me begin by weighing in on the Bible's physical characteristics.

The Henry Morris Study Bible is no mere pocket Bible. It's quite hefty, weighing in at around 4 pounds and measuring approximately 9.5 x 6.9 x 2.3 inches. It has many of the features you would expect to find in a study Bible of this size, including:
*a presentation page
*a births / adoptions record (Truth be told, Master Books should consider expanding the birth / adoptions section to 2-4 pages or offer an optional insert for us homeschooling families who have already exceeded the 5 spaces allotted.)
*2 ribbon markers (one for Old Testament and one for New Testament)
*a Smith-sewn binding
*extra sturdy pages (not sure on the paper thickness, but much sturdier than some of my other study Bibles)

Once you crack open the cover and move past the title page, one of the first things you'll encounter is the introduction to the study Bible. Here Dr. Morris explains some of his motivations behind and goals for this work:

"Its annotations explain the Bible's difficult passages, resolve its alleged contradictions, point out the evidences of its divine origin, confirm its historical accuracy, note its remarkable anticipations of modern science, demonstrate its fulfilled prophecies and in general remove any doubts about its inerrancy, its authority and its ability to meet every human need." (p. iv)

"an uncompromising commitment to literal biblical creationism." (p. iv)

"Based on this literal and contextual approach, the notes become what one might call Baptistic in ecclesiology, pre-millennial in eschatology, non-charismatic in pneumatology, and moderately Calvinistic in soteriology." (p. v)

The biblical text of The Henry Morris Study Bible is based on the King James Version. Dr. Morris touches on this briefly in the introduction to the Old Testament stating, "no English translation of the Bible is perfect (though it is my conviction that the so-called King James Version comes closest to that ideal)." (p. 1) The reasoning behind the choice of the KJV is further explored further in Appendix 21. A Creationist's Defense of the King James Bible. Each of the biblical books is preceded by a 1-2 page introduction discussing the book's authorship and relevant theological concerns. There are numerous study notes throughout. What I especially appreciated about the study notes is that I found them to be both sufficiently technical and very readable. Once you've worked your way through the entire Old Testament and New Testament, moving past the book of Revelation, there are few more gems worth noting. They are:

*Index to Major Topics in Annotations
*Concordance
*8 Maps
*22 Appendices

All things considered, Master Books has put together a very high quality study Bible. The hardcover edition is quite sturdy and should hold up for years of good use. When it comes to study Bibles, my preference is for a leather binding, so in this case, I think the genuine leather edition is well worth the price of the upgrade. I know for some, the KJV text is going to be a sticking point. I tend to be more of an ESV man myself, but I didn't actually have a printed KJV Bible in my personal library, so for me The Henry Morris Study Bible is a welcome addition. Moving beyond the translation concern, I think The Henry Morris Study Bible is worth the asking price for the study notes and appendices alone. The fact that it comes aligned with the KJV text is a bonus. Every home would benefit from having a copy of The Henry Morris Study Bible for reading and reference in their family library. If you're passionate about biblical creation and the authority of Scripture, this is the Bible for you!

First I have to start out with the quality of this Bible in a brown Calfskin. It is just simply beautiful .
Smyth sewing, the quality of the leather, which is so supple it feels so good to be in your hands. This is a Bible that will last for years to come. A Bible that will be treasured through the generations left before our savior comes to take us home .

Also have to mention the abundance of study aides, this is one useful Bible, it is highly recommended!!! This is a Bible everyone should own from the new Christian, right onto an expert on creational itself.
It seems that every footnote touches on the literal 6 day creation.
This Bible is a must have for any King James Version Bible believer.
It will definitely be treasured buy every owner.

I forgot to write in my review a beautiful extra surprise I got when I got my calf skin Study Henry Morris Study Bible it came with a beautiful satin type cover for the Bible ,a black satin cover to protect it all the more. It made it all the more special. If you're even havein the slightest doubt of purchasing this Bible?

It is by far one of the best Bibles that I own.
Now it falls right in line with David Hoffman's Common man's Reference Bible.
Two of the best study Bibles out there, in this man's opinion and I'm sure, many others opinion as well.

One last thing the smell the beautiful leather perfume smell is out of this world.

So stop what you're doing right this second, go out and order this Bible. Right here and right now, this second, don't hesitate, you won't regret.

Genesis commentary is beyond compare - outstanding!

I found the quality to be top notch. Very sturdy yet flexible binding making this bible the likely candidate for the best value in the selection of bindings offered. The Genesis commentary is beyond compare. Worth the price for that alone! Eschatological commentary here leans to Pretrib so I overlook that specific dogma, as it has almost become a religion unto itself since the middle of the 19th century. Coming back to life again is a for more original and biblically accurate view under the banner of Prewrath. Since Prewrath study bibles aren't available yet, the next best option is getting an in-depth view, like nothing else, on the topic of Biblical Creation. The Henry Morris Study Bible will do that for you like none other. It truly is a blessing, not to mention the enjoyment of its fine quality.

Only a Tidbit

As the author stated, this book does not fulfill it's title's promise. It is a mere shadow, a tidbit of what is involved in spherical astronomy. Reading it can either fire your imagination to learn more, or make you want to get a computer program and just 'punch in the numbers'

Badly Written, Poorly Thought Out

If I can prevent anyone from wasting time and money on this book, I will be pleased. It is written on the level of a bad high school newspaper. Moreover, although it is a coffee table book, clearly intended for English speaking readers who are not familiar with Indian cinema, it is not organized to translate the Indian film titles into English, and it rattles off those incomprehensible names without ever describing what the film is about. IT IS NOT WRITTEN BY ISMAIL MERCHANT! He wrote the foreward; and I don't know why he did that.

This newest edition of critical care policies updates the old version, adding chlorhexidine as the prep for procedures simplifying some procedures with icons. The new procedures that have been added, Noninvasive Ventilation, Fecal Management Systems, as well as several others have made this resource even more valuable.
